01 Arrival in Paro

Arrive in Paro by Druk Air, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival, complete immigration and custom formalities. You'll be received by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Spend the evening taking a leisurely stroll along the main street of Paro.

02 Thimphu
  • National Library: Home to ancient Buddhist texts and modern academic books on Himalayan culture and religion.
  • Institute for Zorig Chusum: Known as the Painting School, students here learn the 13 traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan.
  • Textile and Folk Heritage Museum: Offers insights into Bhutanese material culture and lifestyle.
  • National Memorial Chorten: A monument to world peace and a memorial to the third king, His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuck.
  • Trashichhodzong: This impressive fortress houses the Secretariat building, the King's throne room, and various government offices.

03 Thimphu to Trongsa (200 Km, 6 Hours)

After breakfast, drive to Dochu-la pass (3,088m) for panoramic views of the Himalayas. Continue to Wangduephodrang for lunch and then proceed to Trongsa via Pele-la pass (3,300m). En route, visit Chendbji Chorten. Arrive in Trongsa late afternoon and check into your lodge.

04 Trongsa to Bumthang (68 Km, 3 Hours)

Visit Trongsa Dzong, an ancient seat of power in Bhutan. Drive to Bumthang over Yutong-la pass (3,400m). On arrival in Bumthang, check into your lodge.

05 Bumthang

Explore Bumthang's four valleys: Chumey, Choekhor, Tang, and Ura. Visit Kurje Lhakhang, Jambey Lhakhang, Tamshing Lhakhang, and Jakar Dzong. Stroll through the village and visit local shops.

06 Bumthang to Gangtey/Phobjikha (190 Km, 7 Hours)

Drive to Gangtey/Phobjikha valley, winter home to the black-necked cranes. Explore Gangtey Monastery and Phobjikha valley.

07 Gangtey/Phobjikha to Punakha (70 Km, 3 Hours)

Drive to Punakha. Visit Punakha Dzong and Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten.

08 Punakha to Paro (125 Km, 4.5 Hours)

Drive to Paro, visiting Simtokha Dzong en route. Visit Ta Dzong (National Museum) and Rinpung Dzong.

09 Paro

Visit Drukgyel Dzong and take an excursion to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest). Visit Kyichu Lhakhang on your way back.

10 Depart Paro

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
