Taktsang Monastery, commonly known as Tiger’s Nest, is one of Bhutan’s most iconic and sacred sites. Perched precariously on a cliffside 900 meters above the Paro Valley, it is a breathtaking example of Bhutanese architecture and spirituality. According to legend, Guru Rinpoche flew to this location on the back of a tigress and meditated in a cave, hence the name Tiger’s Nest. The monastery is a major pilgrimage destination and offers stunning views, rewarding those who undertake the challenging hike to reach it.
